I got a chance to have a sincere talk to a young military officer. Oh, no, it’s not about his encounter in the battlefield. Well, somehow what we talked is like his battlefield experiences with his love life. This guy raised his complaints on his recent breakup with the one he loved.
He reiterated the following things that a girl should and should never do if her lover is in military service, whether an army, navy or an air force:
1. She should not let him choose between her and his career. (Girls, you won’t like his answer.)
2. She should not expect him to be there any time she wants.
3. She should be aware the uncertainties of his schedule. (They might be in the middle of their date, but the guy have to leave as soon as possible – call of duty.)
4. She should not religiously plan as to when and how they can have a date. (Less expectation, less disappointment).
